Isaiah's snow peas love the greenhouse!

Our family has a multi-generational history of growing vegetables without chemical fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides. Each generation learns new tricks and passes those on to the next generation along with all the information gleaned from years of experience.
Isaiah is the primary vegetable grower for our farm. The rest of us help with planting, weeding and harvesting as needed. Isaiah started growing tomatoes and geraniums when he was in the third grade. Within a few years he was experimenting with many varieties of tomatoes and geraniums, looking for the best colors in each. He even successfully hybridized geraniums when he was eleven, crossing a white and a raspberry ripple to obtain a peach colored blossom with darker veins.
Now, he is always on the lookout for heirloom varieties of all types of vegetables. His main criteria is flavor, with color and appearance a secondary concern. Each week, he strives to have a wide variety of colors and flavors to make an eye and taste appealing display in the CSA boxes and on the market table.
All our vegetables are grown following sustainable, organic practices. You can be assured that everything you get from us is safe and wholesome, as well as great tasting.
In fall of 2008, we constructed our first season-extension greenhouse. In 2010, we added a second greenhouse. We put up our third greenhouse this year, 2013. Our goal is to be able to provide you with delicious veggies even in December and January! We are striving to power everything in the greenhouse with solar energy and future plans include collecting rainwater from the roofs of the other farm building to use for watering inside the greenhouse.
